At least 15 people have died as a result of Hurricane Milton in the United States, according to local authorities. All the fatalities happened in Florida, which was hit the hardest. Over 2.6 million people in the state are still without power.
Milton has weakened into a post-tropical cyclone and left Florida, according to the National Hurricane Center. Meanwhile, Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Administrator Deanne Criswell said the US “did not have the extreme impacts of the worst-case scenario that we prepared for, but there are still so many people that have been impacted by this.”
