The organizing committee for the annual religious pilgrimage to the El Ghriba Synagogue on the island of Djerba has announced that this year’s visit will take place from May 11 to May 18. According to a statement received by the Tunis Afrique Presse agency, the event will be limited exclusively to the performance of religious rituals within the synagogue and to the participation of Jewish residents of Tunisia.
In the same statement, the committee expressed its appreciation for the efforts of all authorities involved in ensuring the successful organization of the pilgrimage and in providing the best possible conditions for its observance. It also reiterated that Tunisia remains a land of tolerance, coexistence, and peace.
