32 migrants stranded on a gas platform off the coast of Tunisia rescued

“The Sea-Watch rescue ship Aurora rescued 32 people from the Miskar oil platform in the Gulf of Gabes in the central Mediterranean, where they had been stranded since Saturday, March 1, 2025. Despite the imminent emergency, informed European authorities had not launched rescue operations. However, the people were in international waters, on the border of the Tunisian and Maltese search and rescue (SAR) zones,” announced the NGO Sea-Watch.

The German humanitarian ship picked up the castaways and received first aid on board. “Everyone is in pretty good health,” according to Sophia, a member of Alarm Phone, contacted by InfoMigrants.
