Tunisia: Scientific event highlights current challenges and future prospects in the fight against HIV/AIDS

    On the occasion of the World AIDS Day, observed every year on December 1st, the Tunisian Association of Clinical Biology organized a scientific event aimed at examining the current challenges and future prospects of the fight against HIV/AIDS in Tunisia, while emphasizing the contribution of all stakeholders involved in this national effort.

    The meeting brought together representatives from public health institutions under the Ministry of Health, medical biologists, infectious disease specialists, as well as professional associations and civil society organizations active in the field.

    According to the association’s statement, the key recommendations focused on the urgent need to enhance diagnostic tools, by integrating the latest scientific technologies and implementing new diagnostic algorithms to improve HIV detection.
    Early and accurate diagnosis ensures timely medical care and helps significantly reduce the risk of transmission.
