The Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) recorded a magnitude 6.1 earthquake 117 kilometers east of Taichung, Taiwan at a depth of 15 kilometers.
According to the report, the earthquake took place at 7:35 local time on Friday. There have been no reports of damage to buildings or injuries so far.
