75,000 tonnes of wheat heading to Tunisia

The Tunisian Cereals Office acquired almost 75,000 tonnes of soft wheat during an international auction organized yesterday Wednesday, August 21, according to European traders. 50,000 tonnes changed hands at the Aston Trading House; the operation was conducted in two batches of 25,000 tonnes each for $242.99 per tonne, including freight, the traders indicate.

It was furthermore learned that a supplementary 25,000 tonnes had been negotiated with Promising International at a rate of $246.00 per tonne, including freight. Nothing is known about the origin of this wheat but traders believe that in all likelihood the goods come from the Black Sea region (so most likely Russia or Ukraine).

Another indication: the client – ​​Tunisia – had specified in its call for tenders that delivery would take place between September 15 and October 20, reports the official Press Agency…
