The spokesperson for the Sidi Bouzid court, Jawhar Gabsi, confirmed in a statement to Tunis Afrique Presse (TAP) Tuesday evening that an inquiry has been opened into the incident involving the collapse of part of a high school wall in the El Mezzouna district of Sidi Bouzid governorate on Monday, killing three students and injuring two others.
According to the spokesperson, the investigation was opened based on Articles 217 and 225 of the Penal Code, noting that the investigating judge in charge of the case gave a judicial mandate to a central brigade of the National Guard in Aouina, which started investigations to determine the responsibilities, based on which the director of the mentioned secondary school was detained.
