In a statement today to Tunisie Numérique, former diplomat Abdullah Al-Abidi said that politics, like other fields, eventually becomes subject to the laws of physics, meaning material laws. This applies currently to the war in Gaza. It is not about the desire to resist or the lack of this desire, but the living conditions in Gaza and the strip force the residents to resist to survive.
Al-Abidi stressed that the martyrdom of several Hamas leaders in the recent war will not stop the resistance from continuing its actions. Almost the entire world has acknowledged the right of the resistance, as they have been living for 70 years in extraordinary conditions that do not allow for life. Meanwhile, the policy of the Zionist entity, and even the countries that support it, calls for their expulsion.
The speaker furthermore pointed out the destruction Israel is causing to Gaza’s infrastructure, which has made the conditions for a dignified life impossible. He added that Israel regards the Israelis held by Hamas as hostages, and the solution of a ceasefire is seen as a truce to retrieve them. There is no talk of a two-state solution, but rather efforts to distribute the Palestinians across other Arab countries.
The former diplomat underscored that the various conditions imposed by Israel, and its refusal to allow the Palestinian people to survive, will strengthen the spirit of resistance, even instinctively. Thus, the resistance in Palestine will continue, and the Palestinians will keep trying to defend themselves.
