Actor Tom Hanks and wife Rita Wilson have contracted coronavirus while in Australia.
The Hollywood superstar shared a statement on Twitter on Thursday explaining he and Wilson were feeling a “bit tired, like we had colds, and some body aches”.
Hanks, who was in pre-production on Baz Luhrmann’s Elvis Presley biopic at Village Roadshow Studios on the Gold Coast, confirmed his positive test result on Thursday morning.
“We felt a bit tired, like we had colds, and some body aches,” he wrote.
Wilson was reportedly experiencing chills that “came and went” and fevers. The couple tested positive for the virus and were following protocols.
“To play things right, as is needed in the world right now, we were tested for the coronavirus, and were found to be positive. Well, now. What to do next? The Medical Officials have protocols that must be followed. We Hanks’ [sic] will be tested, observed, and isolated for as long as public health and safety requires.”
