Aerospace: AKSA Composites Officializes Its Presence in Tunisia, Marking a New Milestone Driven by the Tunisian Aerospace Ecosystem

Turkish company AKSA Composites, a subsidiary of the Akkök Group, has officially established its presence in Tunisia with the signing on Thursday, September 24, of its industrial lease agreement at the Borj Cédria Technopole.

The project represents an initial investment of $5 million and marks AKSA Composites’ first establishment on the African continent. The company plans to develop manufacturing activities in Tunisia involving composite components and materials, particularly for the aerospace sector.

With an industrial base of more than 80 companies and a strong export orientation, Tunisia’s aerospace industry has gradually integrated into international value chains. The quality of its skilled workforce, proximity to Europe, industrial flexibility, and the presence of an established supplier ecosystem are among the key advantages highlighted in efforts to attract new investment.

The signing of the industrial lease in Borj Cédria thus marks the culmination of a process involving several players within Tunisia’s aerospace ecosystem, including GITAS, FIPA-Tunisia, the Borj Cédria Technopole, as well as Tunisian and Turkish institutional and industry partners.

According to the information released, the future Borj Cédria facility is expected to serve as the starting point for an industrial development that will gradually expand in Tunisia. Industry sources indicate that operations could begin as early as 2028, with several dozen direct jobs expected to be created over time.
