According to the Algerian sports site “Aps.dz”, the Algerian city of Oran will host the African Zone 1 championship which brings together the North African nations, next May. 4 nations will participate, namely Algeria, Tunisia, Egypt and Libya, pending confirmation of the participation of other selections.
According to the same source, “This contest is part of the experimental competitions (Events tests) in anticipation of the holding in this city of the 19th edition of the Mediterranean Games, next summer”.
Remark that the sports complex for this tournament includes a 40,000-seat football stadium, a modern athletics track, and a 4,200-seat athletics stadium.
