African Junior Golf Championship: Esraa Bouaoumer Strengthens Her Hold on Second Place After Day Two

Esraa Bouaoumer, a player from the Djerba Golf Club and a member of Tunisia’s national junior women’s team, once again demonstrated her determination and thorough preparation as she aims for a medal at the African Junior Golf Championship, currently underway at the Golf La Résidence course in Gammarth.

After finishing the first day in second place, the Tunisian golfer confirmed her excellent form by ending the second day tied at the top of the leaderboard with Morocco’s Soussan Malhi, both posting a total of 153 strokes.

Following a countback, Malhi was awarded the top spot in the overall rankings, while Esraa Bouaoumer maintained her second-place position. The battle for the title promises to be intense during the third and final round, with Malhi, Bouaoumer, South Africa’s Lisa Kotzer, and Morocco’s Sophia Zbairi all within one point of each other.

In the team competition, Morocco holds onto the lead ahead of South Africa and Tunisia, who are tied with a total of 311 points.

In the boys’ division, South Africa continues to dominate both individually and in the team standings. Meanwhile, the young Tunisian players struggled to manage the pressure and slipped to ninth place in the team rankings after losing crucial points.
