Afrobasket 2025: Tunisia Drawn in Group B – Full Line-Up Revealed (Video)

It’s all set in Angola, which is preparing to host the 2025 edition of Afrobasket for the first time since 2007. The tournament will take place from August 12 to 24 in the cities of Luanda and Namibe.

On Friday, during the draw held at the HCTA Hotel in Luanda, reigning champions Tunisia were placed in Group B alongside Madagascar, Nigeria, and Cameroon.

A total of 16 national teams have been divided into four groups (A to D), each comprising four teams, as follows:

Group A: Côte d’Ivoire (2021 finalists), DR Congo, Cape Verde, Rwanda
Group B: Tunisia (2021 champions), Madagascar, Nigeria, Cameroon
Group C: Angola (host nation), South Sudan, Guinea, Libya
Group D: Senegal (3rd place in 2021), Mali, Egypt, Uganda

Group Stage Schedule (August 12–17):
– Qualification playoffs for the quarter-finals: August 18–19
– Quarter-finals: August 20–21
– Semi-finals: August 23
– Final and third-place match: August 24

Key Tournament Format Details:
– Each team will face the other three teams in its group (round-robin format).
– The top team from each group will advance directly to the quarter-finals.
– The second- and third-placed teams will enter playoff rounds to vie for the remaining quarter-final spots.

The competition promises high stakes and intense rivalries as Africa’s top basketball nations battle for continental supremacy.
