More than 70,000 individuals have been recently displaced in Syria following military offensives launched by opposition factions and the Islamist group Jabhat Fatah al-Sham, which have taken control of large parts of the north of the country, United Nations humanitarian agencies reported on Tuesday.
According to the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), displacements from Tal Refaat towards the northwest and northeast of Syria have been observed. Reports indicate that an agreement has been reached to establish a passageway for people to move from Tal Refaat to areas in northeast Syria (NES).
This development emphasises the continued instability in the region and highlights the urgent need for humanitarian assistance to support those affected by the ongoing conflict.
