Algeria: 3.4-magnitude earthquake strikes Tizi Ouzou

The Algerian Center for Research in Astronomy, Astrophysics and Geophysics (CRAAG) recorded a seismic tremor on Thursday, May 29, 2025, measuring 3.4 on the Richter scale in the wilaya of Tizi Ouzou.

According to a statement issued by the center, the tremor was felt at 3:52 a.m., with its epicenter located 6 kilometers west of Beni Douala, in the wilaya of Tizi Ouzou, approximately 100 kilometers east of the capital, Algiers.

CRAAG also reported a separate tremor on May 28, 2025, at 3:38 p.m., with a magnitude of 3.3. That event was recorded 26 kilometers northwest of Arzew, in the wilaya of Oran.
