As many as 80 possible nominees have attested their apparent intention to run for the presidential election on Dec. 12 in Algeria, said spokesman of the Independent Election Monitoring Authority Ali Draa.
Draa he added that list of potential nominees includes some local party leaders and ordinary citizens
The new organic law on the electoral system demands presidential nominees to prominently display at least 50,000 signatures of eligible voters. These signatures must be obtained through at least 25 provinces.
