The Algerian Constitutional Council declared the official results of the legislative elections organized on June 12 and won by the FLN, the party in power.
The FLN won 98 seats, ahead of a diverse group of independents (84 electeds), the President of the Constitutional Council, Kamel Fenniche, announced on public television.
Algeria’s leading Islamist party, the Legalist and Conservative Movement of Society for Peace (MSP), comes third with 65 elected officials. Lastly, the traditional ally of the FLN, the National Democratic Rally (RND), won 58 seats
