Interview with the Algerian Ambassador to Tunisia, HE Azzouz Baallal
Question: The presidential election in Algeria is nearing… so it will be on September 7th…
Answer: The presidential election will take place on September 7th for citizens living in Algeria. On the other hand, for members of the Algerian community abroad, the vote will be brought forward, following the law, to permit them to fulfil their electoral duty, in the best possible conditions.
Members of the Algerian community in Tunisia will thus be able to vote here in Tunisia, from Monday, September 2nd to Sunday September 7th.
Question: A word for them?
Question: So the preparations have begun? Where are you at?
Answer: Our consular network in Tunisia, in coordination with the representatives of the National Independent Authority for Elections (ANIE), first guarantees the scrupulous implementation of the legislative and regulatory provisions in force. This is the first condition for the success of the election.
The ANIE manages all phases of the election, from the initial preparations to the proclamation of the provisional results. We have an electoral system that complies with international standards and which indisputably guarantees the sincerity of the vote and its credibility.
Everything is ready. The system is in place.
Question: What arrangements have been put in place for the smooth running of the vote?
Answer: Concerning organizational arrangements, 21 polling stations have been planned. They are distributed throughout Tunisia, to guarantee the best possible proximity to our national voters. They will run from September 2 to 7. Our consular posts in Tunis, Kef and Gafsa are doing necessary work to ensure good circulation of information to our nationals on the establishment of these polling stations.
In this regard, let me to thank the Tunisian authorities for their assistance and help in providing us with polling stations, and also for their support.
A final word …
The construction in Algeria continues, at the institutional, economic and social levels. The current dynamic is made up of accomplishments and is a source of hope. The Algerian community has its place there.
