Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos will step down later this year, shifting the helm to the company’s top executive Andy Jassy, the company declared Tuesday. Bezos will transition to executive chairman of Amazon’s board.
In a letter to Amazon employees published Tuesday afternoon, Bezos announced that he would transition to executive chairman, where he’ll focus on “new products and early initiatives.”
