In the second match of the opening day in Group B of the Arab Cup, organized by FIFA in Qatar, Saudi Arabia clinched a significant victory over Oman on Tuesday evening, winning 2–1.
In this tournament, which brings together 16 teams, only the top two from each group will qualify for the quarter-finals, scheduled for 11 and 12 December.
The win came courtesy of goals from Firas Al Buraikan (55′) and Saleh Al Shehri (77′) for the Saudis, while Oman’s Ghanem Al Habashi (70′) had briefly brought his side level. With this result, Saudi Arabia joins Morocco at the top of the group, following the Moroccans’ convincing 3–1 win over the Comoros.
