Ariana: a health caravan for early breast cancer screening in Raoued

The National Office of Family and Population (ONFP), in partnership with the Regional Directorate of Health in Ariana, is organizing this Thursday a health caravan dedicated to early breast cancer screening. The initiative is taking place at the Raoued Primary Health Care Center, in the governorate of Ariana, through the mobile clinic “Mamo Life”, under the slogan: “The earlier it is detected, the better the chances of recovery.”

Conducted under the supervision of the Ministry of Health and in cooperation with Medis laboratories, this initiative forms part of a national approach aimed at strengthening prevention and early detection of chronic diseases, particularly breast cancer.

Free comprehensive screening services for women in the region

The health caravan offers a range of early breast cancer screening services for women in the region. These include clinical breast examinations, breast ultrasound scans, and mammography, all carried out onboard the mobile clinic by specialized medical teams.

According to the ONFP, the initiative seeks to encourage women to adopt regular screening practices and to promote a culture of prevention, while contributing to the preservation of both physical and psychological health.

A mobile clinic to bring health services closer to communities

The health caravan is not limited to Raoued. The “Mamo Life” mobile clinic will continue its tour across various regions of the country as part of a field-based program designed to ensure the continuity of screening and prevention services and to bring healthcare closer to women, particularly in underserved areas.

Through this proximity-based approach, health authorities aim to strengthen equitable access to care and improve early management of breast cancer, one of the most common cancers affecting women in Tunisia.
