The Société Nationale des Chemins de Fer Tunisiens (SNCFT) reported the resumption of operation of the train linking Tunis to Annaba, Algeria, from Sunday August 11, 2024.
This first commercial journey will depart from Tunis station at 8 a.m. The following two trips will take place on Wednesday, August 14 and Friday August 16, 2024, departing from Tunis at 8:25 a.m.
This train is exclusively dedicated to international transport between Tunisia and Algeria. The regular travel program will be as follows:
- Departure from Tunis station to Annaba station on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8:25 a.m.
- Departure from Annaba station to Tunis station on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays at 9:00 a.m.
The stops scheduled between Tunis and Annaba in both directions will be Béja, Jendouba, Ghardimaou and Souk Ahras.
The price of the one-way ticket is set at 38 Tunisian dinars in second class and 44 Tunisian dinars in first class. For a round trip, the fare is 71 Tunisian dinars in second class and 81 Tunisian dinars in first class, with a reservation needed for the return.
In addition, the SNCFT announced free transport for children under 4 years old and reduced fares for children aged 4 to 12 years old.
