This Friday, the Finistère prefecture announced that a first outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) has been detected in a poultry farm in Cléder (Finistère).
According to the latest situation update from the Ministry of Agriculture, finalized on December 9, this is the first confirmed case of avian flu in Brittany, a region that had so far been spared.
Based on the same update, 93 outbreaks of avian influenza have been identified in commercial farms since this summer (not including the newly detected case in Brittany).

Île-de-France (Yvelines)
Pays de la Loire (Loire-Atlantique, Vendée, Maine-et-Loire)
Nouvelle-Aquitaine (Lot-et-Garonne, Dordogne, Deux-Sèvres, Haute-Vienne)
Centre-Val de Loire (Cher)
Auvergne–Rhône-Alpes (Allier, Loire, Ain)
Bourgogne–Franche-Comté (Côte-d’Or, Haute-Marne)
Grand Est (Marne)
According to the same source, 9 additional outbreaks have also been detected in backyard flocks and among non-commercial captive bird owners, in the departments of Seine-Maritime, Vendée, Charente-Maritime, Loire-Atlantique, Loir-et-Cher, Bas-Rhin, Aube, and Gironde.
