Bahrain: One Killed, Two Seriously Injured After Missile Debris Sparks Fire at Sea

Bahrain’s Ministry of Interior announced on Monday that debris resulting from the interception of a missile fell onto a vessel in a maritime area near the capital, Manama, triggering a fire that killed one worker and seriously injured two others.

In a statement posted on the platform X, the ministry confirmed that the fire has since been extinguished. No further details were provided regarding the identity of the victims or the nature of the affected vessel.

The incident comes amid ongoing Iranian retaliatory strikes targeting U.S. allies and American sites across the region, as military tensions continue to escalate in the Gulf.

Last Saturday, an Iranian drone attack caused material damage at Bahrain International Airport, according to authorities, though no casualties were reported.

In the same context, the General Command of the Bahrain Defence Force stated that the kingdom’s air and missile defense systems had successfully intercepted what it described as hostile Iranian attacks. According to the official statement, a total of 61 missiles and 34 drones were destroyed and shot down.

These developments underscore the growing regional escalation and raise concerns about broader instability affecting Gulf security and strategic infrastructure.
