Basketball : A great reinforcement for the USMO in Kigali

 
 
The management committee of the US Monastirienne confirmed on Wednesday that it had boosted the basketball team with American player Julius Coles, 33, active in the Al Wakra club in Qatar since 2019. Aged 33 and measuring 1.96 meters, Julius Coles will be a tremendous asset for the Monastirians who will partake in the 1/4 finals of this continental event, from May 21 to 28 in Kigali, according to the following program:
Saturday, May 21, 2022 / Kigali Arena
2:30 p.m. AS Salé (Morocco) – Petro Luanda (Angola)
6:00 p.m. FAP (Cameroon) – Rwanda Energy Group (Rwanda)
Sunday, May 22, 2022 / Kigali Arena
2:30 p.m. Cape Town Tigers (South Africa) – US Monastir (Tunisia)
6:00 p.m. SLAC (Guinea) – Zamalek (Egypt)
Still, with this game, the Basketball Africa League has added two new distinctions to the awards this season in this case: the “BAL Coach of the Year” and “All-BAL defensive Team”.
 
According to African basketball officials, these 2 awards will strengthen the six other existing ones namely: BAL Championship Trophy, Hakeem Olajuwon MVP Award, Dikembe Mutombo Defensive Player, Manute Bol Sportsmanship player, Scoring champion and All-BAL First Team.
