Béja : The Archaeological Site of Dougga Hosts a Promotional Day for Tunisian Olive Oil

The archaeological site of Dougga, in the governorate of Béja, hosted a promotional day for Tunisian olive oil on Wednesday, February 4, 2026.

The event was organized by the Regional Tourism Commission of Béja as part of efforts to promote local and national olive oil as a distinguished food product that has earned numerous quality labels.

The event drew several foreign tourist delegations, including visitors from Japan and China, as well as from a number of European countries, according to Ridha Hanbli, Regional Commissioner for Tourism in Béja, in a statement to Tunisie Numérique.

Hanbli explained that the initiative is part of a national strategy to promote Tunisian olive oil, implemented through cooperation between the Ministries of Tourism and Agriculture.

The broader plan spans several archaeological sites and various governorates across the country, with the aim of raising further awareness of this national product and strengthening its visibility on both the tourism and international stages.
