Speaking to Tunisie Numérique, Head of the Medical Committee at Beja regional hospital Dr Mohamed Ali Boughalleba affirmed that after the passing of a woman from Coronavirus, her relatives declined her burial according to the procedure reserved for the victims of the pandemic despite the explanations of the medical team.
He added that family members intentionally attacked medical and paramedical staff and attempted to violently assault them.
Dr Boughalleba added that the medical crew is not responsible for the fatality and that it is unacceptable to attack them while they are attempting to save lives and even in the event of a medical mistake, the court can be brought for justice.
In addition, he stressed the continued application of the health protocol, seeing it as the only way out of this health crisis.
