Belgian health authorities confirmed on Friday they have identified the first case of the new COVID-19 variant in the country and in Europe. Health Minister Frank Vandenbroucke stated the person in question, who was unvaccinated, tested positive on November 22 after returning from abroad and called on the public “not to panic.”
