Bizerte: launch of travel procedures for pilgrims ahead of the 2026 Hajj

The process of finalizing travel procedures to the Holy Sites has begun today in the governorate of Bizerte for pilgrims from the region ahead of the Hajj season of 1447 AH / 2026 AD.

An operation supervised by the governorate

Conducted under the supervision of the Governor of Bizerte, Salem Ben Yacoub, the operation is scheduled to run over four days, from 16 to 19 December 2025. It aims to enable pilgrims to complete all the necessary administrative and logistical formalities before their departure to the Holy Sites.

A one-stop shop to facilitate procedures

The governor of the region explained that the operation is being carried out in coordination with the Regional Directorate of Religious Affairs. A one-stop service desk has been set up at the headquarters of the governorate, bringing together representatives from banks, the services and accommodation company, Saudi Airlines services, the Tunisian Post, as well as other relevant stakeholders.

This arrangement is intended to streamline procedures, reduce waiting times, and provide pilgrims with the best possible conditions of comfort and support before traveling to perform the Hajj rituals.

587 pilgrims concerned in the region

For his part, the Regional Director of Religious Affairs in Bizerte, Hédi Gharibi, stated that the number of pilgrims from the region has reached, to date, 587 men and women.

This organizational effort is part of a broader approach aimed at ensuring optimal preparation for pilgrims and the smooth completion of all stages preceding their journey to the Holy Sites.
