Brahim Bouderbala announces the transmission of the 2026 Finance Law to President Kaïs Saïed (video)

The president of the Assembly of the People’s Representatives, Brahim Bouderbala, announced this Wednesday, during the closing plenary session devoted to examining the draft Finance Law for 2026, that it had been decided to transmit the 2026 Finance Law, as adopted by Parliament, to the president of the Republic, Kaïs Saïed.

During this final general session, Ibrahim Bouderbala stated that the text of the 2026 Finance Law, already approved by the Assembly of the People’s Representatives, will be officially sent to the head of state.

This announcement comes at the end of the parliamentary process of examining the draft, which was marked by discussions within the two legislative chambers.

The president of Parliament explained that this decision falls within the framework of the decree governing the functioning of the two legislative chambers.

He recalled that, in the absence of agreement on a consensus version between the Assembly of the People’s Representatives and the National Council of Regions and Districts, it is the version adopted by Parliament that is transmitted to the president of the Republic for the next steps in the procedure.

In concrete terms, in the absence of a joint text emerging from the work carried out between the two sides, the version of the 2026 Finance Law that has already received the approval of the Assembly of the People’s Representatives becomes the basis of the file sent to Carthage.

This stage marks a turning point in the budgetary calendar, as the Finance Law sets the framework for the State’s revenues and expenditures for the 2026 financial year, as well as the main financial and fiscal orientations for the period ahead.
