As part of Tunisia’s participation in the 39th edition of the APAS Show—Latin America’s leading food and beverage trade fair—taking place from May 12 to 15, 2025, in São Paulo, the Export Promotion Centre (CEPEX) has released key figures on Tunisian exports to Brazil.
These figures highlight a significant growth in Brazilian imports of olive oil and dates, a trend from which Tunisian exporters already present in the market are benefiting.
Tunisia stands as Brazil’s leading supplier of dates, with a turnover reaching $6.5 million in 2024. This accounts for 70% of the market and marks a substantial 124% increase compared to 2023.
Brazilian imports of olive oil rose by 18% in 2024 year-on-year, climbing from $589 million to $695 million. Tunisia ranks as the fifth-largest supplier, with exports nearing $20 million—an impressive 119% growth over the past two years.
It is worth recalling that in March, the Brazilian government enacted a tariff exemption on extra virgin olive oil imports. This decision aims to meet growing domestic demand while stabilizing supply and prices. The measure presents a valuable opportunity for Tunisian companies to expand their market presence and gain additional market share.
