A further 5752 COVID-19 infections were recorded on October 13-16 after 15,056 people underwent tests, the Health Ministry said on Saturday.
The total number of positive cases from February till October 16 stands at 40,542, out of 297,513 tests performed since the start of the pandemic.
116 more patients succumbed to the disease, taking the death toll since February to 629, the ministry said. 158 patients are currently in intensive care units and 77 are put on mechanical ventilation.
