Many people were injured Wednesday in a “bomb attack” targeting a World War I remembrance ceremony which was attended by European diplomats at a non-Muslim cemetery in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
“The yearly ceremony commemorating the conclusion of World War I at the non-Muslim cemetery in Jeddah, attended by several consulates, including that of France, was the target of an IED [improvised explosive device] attack this morning, which wounded several people,” the French foreign ministry announced.
“France firmly denounces this cowardly, unjust aggression,” the ministry added.
