The United States has officially withdrawn from the World Health Organization, lawmakers announced on Tuesday, more than a month after President Donald Trump announced his intention to do so for WHO’s alleged failure in responding to coronavirus. The US Congress was given formal notice of the exit on Tuesday.
Trump has frequently criticized the WHO and in May, announced he was freezing funding for the health organization and considering pulling out of it.
