Canada reports 15 Omicron infections

Chief Public Health Officer of Canada Dr. Theresa Tam announced the country identified 15 COVID-19 cases caused by the Omicron variant. One of the infected persons is a child under the age of 12, who recently traveled to southern Africa.

“Currently severe illness trends have leveled off, but are still elevated and could begin to rise again, unless we keep infection rates down,” Tam stated. Canada currently recommends that people over the age of 50 should get a booster shot at least six months after original vaccination.
