China places 17M people in Shenzhen in lockdown

China has placed some 17 million people in Shenzhen under lockdown in order to curb the spread of the coronavirus in the city, Agence France Presse reported on Sunday.

According to the latest data, Asian country’s daily virus case toll has reached 1,807, reaching its two-year high.

The city officials previously urged citizens not to leave the city unless necessary and announced three rounds of mass testing for COVID-19.
