This Sunday saw the very first goal of the inaugural 32-team Club World Cup — and it came courtesy of Kingsley Coman.
Bayern Munich made a thunderous start to their global campaign. The Rekordmeister, considered among the tournament favorites to lift the trophy on July 13, crushed Australian side Auckland City with a commanding 10–0 victory.
There was never any doubt about the outcome, as the Bavarians asserted their dominance through goals from Kingsley Coman (6’, 22’), Sacha Boey (18’), Michael Olise (20’, 45+3’), Thomas Müller (45’, 89’), and Jamal Musiala (68’, 73’, 84’).
The second match in Group C will see Benfica face off against Boca Juniors.
