Club World Cup : Two Major Absences for PSG Ahead of Real Madrid Clash

Paris Saint-Germain has suffered a significant blow ahead of its highly anticipated showdown with Real Madrid, scheduled for this Wednesday in the semi-finals of the FIFA Club World Cup.

The setback stems from a decision by FIFA’s disciplinary committee, which has handed two-match suspensions to defenders Willian Pacho and Lucas Hernandez, following their straight red cards in the quarter-final against Bayern Munich.

The ruling means both players will miss the remainder of the tournament, even if the Parisian side manages to overcome Real Madrid and secure a spot in the final.

A serious headache for head coach Luis Enrique ahead of one of the most crucial matches of the season.

However, PSG’s management retains the right to appeal the decision issued by FIFA, in a last-ditch effort to salvage the situation for the two defenders.

The pair were sent off late in the match for reckless challenges on Bayern players Leon Goretzka and Raphaël Guerreiro during the quarter-final.

Football fans are eagerly awaiting Wednesday’s clash between PSG and Real Madrid.

The winner will go on to face either Chelsea or Brazilian club Fluminense in the final.
