Commemoration of the Nakba: Tunisia renews its tribute to the palestinian people’s resistance

Today, May 15, 2025, marks the seventy-seventh of al-Nakba Day, a day on which we commemorate the struggles of the brave Palestinian people and their heroic resilience in the face of the brutal Zionist war machine over many long decades, striving to achieve their legitimate aspirations for a life of freedom and dignity under an independent and sovereign State on all the land of Palestine.
This commemoration coincides with the occupying entity’s intensification of its genocidal war and policies of suffocating siege imposed on the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, along with its systematic targeting of the fundamental elements of the Palestinian people’s right to life—without the slightest accountability or consequences—in a blatant and unprecedented violation of all international conventions, human values, and ethics.
On this symbolic occasion, Tunisia renews its profound respect and admiration for the heroic resistence of the brotherly Palestinian people, who stand alone against the arrogance and tyranny of the occupying entity and the brutality of its military arsenal, amid the suspicious silence of the international community. They are writing a new historical epic, unparalleled in humanity’s history, in their continuous struggle to reclaim their usurped lands and restore their full and legitimate historical rights without compromise.
Tunisia has resounded its call in all forums, urging all of humanity to unconditionally support the brotherly Palestinian people in defending their inalienable and imprescriptible rights. Today, Tunisia reaffirms its steadfast position in solidarity with the Palestinian brothers and sisters in their right to self-determination and their struggle to fully regain their legitimate historical rights, establishing their State on all the land of Palestine with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.
Tunisia will remain steadfast in its commitment, upholding the banner of international and humanitarian legitimacy in defending the Palestinian cause, supporting it, and endorsing all sincere initiatives aimed at achieving a just and comprehensive settlement that restores rights to their rightful owners and contributes to security and stability for all the peoples of the region.
