Cooperation agreement signed between Tunisia and Canada on the sidelines of Francophonie summit

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration, and Tunisians abroad, Othman Jerandi, and his Canadian counterpart, Mélanie Joly, signed this Friday, November 18, 2022, on the sidelines of the Francophonie summit in Djerba, agreement cooperation.

The aim of this agreement is to assist Tunisia to meet the economic and social challenges caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and the war in Ukraine.

It seeks to support Tunisia in its search for economic opportunities and support its efforts to contain the fallout of the pandemic and its impact on the tourism sector, in addition to the war in Ukraine and its repercussions on the prices of products base, including fuels and food products.

The announcement was made by the Canadian Minister of Foreign Affairs after an interview with Jerandi, underscoring Canada’s desire to continue to provide economic and financial support to Tunisia, to support democratic questions in Tunisia, and to support women’s rights in particular.
