The comeback was so close! After being outclassed in the first leg (0-4), FC Barcelona defeated Atletico Madrid (3-0) this Tuesday at the Camp Nou.
Led by Bernal (29th minute) from a Yamal assist, the Blaugrana doubled their lead before halftime with a penalty converted by Raphinha (45+5th minute). While Bernal (72nd minute) bagged a brace in the second half, the Catalans were unable to force extra time.
It’s worth noting that this match was also marred by Koundé’s injury, a calf strain that forced him to be replaced in the 13th minute by Baldé.
Atletico will therefore play in the final on April 18th in Seville against the winner of the tie between Athletic Bilbao and Real Sociedad (0-1 in the first leg).
