Revenue from date exports exceeded 500 million dinars during the first four months of the 2025/2026 season, marking a 4.4% increase compared with the same period of the previous season (2024/2025).
The “Deglet Nour” variety alone accounted for 85.7% of total export volumes, according to a report released on Friday, February 27, 2026, by the Observatoire national de l’agriculture.
The Observatory attributed the rise primarily to a 5.1% increase in exported quantities, which reached 77,000 tonnes.
The average price of dates stood at 6.500 dinars per kilogram, while the “Deglet Nour” variety reached 7.19 dinars per kilogram, recording a slight decline of 0.7% compared with the same period of the 2024/2025 season.
Data from the Observatory show that 41.7% of Tunisian exports are destined for the European Union, 24.9% for Asia, and 23.8% for Africa.
Morocco remains the leading importer of Tunisian dates, accounting for 16.8% of exported volumes, followed by Italy (12%) and Germany (8.7%).
As for organic date exports, volumes reached 3,718.9 tonnes, generating nearly 38.2 million dinars in revenue during the first four months of the season — an increase of 27.3% in volume and 36.9% in value.
Germany continues to be the top destination for Tunisian organic dates, absorbing 35% of export volumes, ahead of the Netherlands (12%) and France (10%).
It is worth noting that organic dates accounted for no more than 4.8% of total date export volumes.
