France is set to take a new step in its Arctic diplomatic strategy with the opening of a French consulate in Greenland on February 6, according to an announcement by the French Minister of Foreign Affairs.
The consulate will be located in Nuuk, the capital of the autonomous territory linked to the Kingdom of Denmark. The move aims to strengthen diplomatic ties and underline France’s growing strategic interest in the Arctic region.
This decision comes amid a rapidly evolving geopolitical landscape, as Greenland has attracted increasing international attention due to its strategic location and natural resources.
