A gunman shot dead, on Tuesday evening, two members of the police, as well as two pilgrims who were observing the end of the Ghriba pilgrimage on the island of Djerba.
Two cousins (a French national and a Tunisian citizen) were killed in the terrorist attack carried out by a Naval Guard officer.
42-year old Benjamin Dan Haddad, who was born in Marseille (Bouches-du-Rhône), was killed near the synagogue where he was with his Tunisian cousin.
30-year old Aviel Haddad from Djerba was also killed.
In a press release published, Tuesday, The Interior Ministry said that the temple has been secured and cordoned off, adding that an investigation was initiated to determine the reasons behind the terrorist attack.
