Earthquake hits Algeria capital

An earthquake of magnitude 4.2 on the Richter scale was recorded this Thursday at 9:04 a.m. in the wilaya of Blida, according to data from the Center for Research in Astronomy, Astrophysics and Geophysics (Craag), local media reported.

According to the same source, the epicentre of the earthquake was located 4km southwest of Ain Romana, wilaya of Blida. The shock was felt in the neighbouring wilayas including Algiers and Médéa.

According to the Civil Protection, no material or human loss has been recorded so far.
