The Egyptian theater and cinema world is mourning the loss of veteran actor Sayed Sadeq, who passed away on Friday, August 8, 2025, at the age of 80. His death, which came without any prior illness, took many by surprise, including his colleagues and fans.
The news was announced by his son, screenwriter Loay Sadeq, who posted on social media: “My father, the noble man Sayed Sadeq, has passed away.”
Sayed Sadeq leaves behind a long and rich career, marked by memorable performances in film, television, and theater. Known for his distinctive style and strong screen presence, he earned a special place in the hearts of Egyptian and Arab audiences.
The Syndicate of Artistic Professions, headed by Ashraf Zaki, also expressed its deep sorrow, paying tribute to “a dedicated artist and a respected figure of Egyptian cultural life.”
