The Constitutional Court in Algeria issued the final results of the presidential election held last Saturday, confirming the re -re-election of Abdelmadjid Tebboune for a second five-year term.
Rejection of results
On Saturday, the Constitutional Court fixed the “material mistakes” in the announcement of the provisional results made by Anie. According to the declaration of the president of the court, Omar Belhadj, Abdelmadjid Tebboune won approximately 84% of the votes, against the 94% previously announced.
As for its main competitors, Abdelali Hassani Cherif, leader of the Movement of the Society for Peace (MSP), received 9.5% of the vote, while Youssef Ouchiche, National Secretary of the Front of Socialist Forces (FFS), collected About 6% of votes.
Results details
The outgoing president, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, raised 7,976,000 votes, Abdelali Hassani Cherif got 904,000 votes, and Youssef Ouchiche 580,000 votes. The total number of valid votes amounts to 9,461,000.
Concerning electoral participation, the Constitutional Court announced that it was finally 46%, while the ANIe had previously indicated a rate of 48%.
With the publication of the final results, Abdelmadjid Tebboune can now go into office as soon as he has taken an oath.
