During the “TRT World Forum” in Istanbul, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan cautioned against Turkish TV series that do not align with the values of society.
President Erdogan stated, “We must be cautious regarding Turkish TV series that do not align with our community’s values and religion, and which are not in line with our morals, such as those that promote violence against women, for example… This poses a risk of deviating various segments of society.”
He added, “We cannot accept TV series that portray our people as ignorant and failing to uphold noble morals.”
Erdogan also explained: “We, in the Justice and Development Party, are against homosexuality, and against all these deviations and their spread in our society… We are also against all media actions and organizations that spread these deviations, which aim, fundamentally, at (destroying the concept of family) and (social culture) in Turkey.”
