European Union High Representative for Foreign Affairs Josep Borrell demanded on Thursday that Russia must cease military operations and must withdraw unconditionally from the entire territory of Ukraine.
In a declaration published by the high representative, the EU also “condemns the involvement” of Belarus. “The EU has made clear from the outset and at the highest political level that any further military aggression against Ukraine will have massive consequences and severe costs,” read the statement.
Finally, the press release emphasizes that the EU unwaveringly supports Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as reasserts its commitment to reinforcing Ukraine’s political association and economic integration with the European Union.
