European Commission Spokesperson Olof Gill said on Thursday that the United States should engage in an open dialogue on trade with the European Union.
“We must work together to preserve all opportunities for our people and businesses. Not against each other. Europe stands for dialogue, openness, and reciprocity. We are ready for partnership if the game is played according to the rules,” Gill told RIA Novosti. He further noted that transatlantic trade is worth $1.5 trillion, stressing that US companies were able to invest and generate significant profits in the large EU market.
